Welcome to Niobrara County Prevention Coalition
The Niobrara County Prevention Coalition is a group of concerned citizens representing a wide cross section of community organizations dedicated to strengthening prevention efforts around alcohol, tobacco, other drugs, and suicide.
What we do:
The Niobrara County Prevention Coalition is a group of concerned citizens representing a wide cross section of community organizations dedicated to strengthening prevention efforts around alcohol, tobacco, other drugs, and suicide. We have partnered with the Legend off Rawhide Committee to help provide security and ID scanners and wristbands (event toolkit) at the annual event. The event toolkit is available, free of charge, for anyone hosting an event where alcohol is served. We have also worked with the Niobrara County Sheriff’s Office to provide Responsible Beverage Server Training (TiPS) to local establishments that serve liquor. The coalition meets the 2nd Thursday of each month from noon – 1:00 at the Lusk Town Hall (subject to change). All interested individuals are encouraged to attend. - Becoming certified as a TIPS trainer offers many advantages:
- The flexibility to conduct training sessions where and when you need them.
- Can offer a substantial savings over online training.
- An on staff TIPS trainer can also represent a supplemental revenue stream if training is offered to neighboring organizations and allows you to train participants according to a convenient schedule that suits your needs.
To certify as a trainer you are required to attend a two-day workshop and complete the certification exam. You will be certified for one year, and positioned to offer the most effective responsible alcohol service training available.
What is QPR?
QPR stands for Question, Persuade, and Refer — 3 simple steps that anyone can learn to help save a life from suicide. Just as people trained in CPR and the Heimlich Maneuver help save thousands of lives each year, people trained in QPR learn how to recognize the warning signs of a suicide crisis and how to question, persuade, and refer someone to help. Each year thousands of Americans, like you, are saying “Yes” to saving the life of a friend, colleague, sibling, or neighbor. QPR can be learned in our Gatekeeper course in as little as one hour”
